About Peer Academics
Peer Academics is a multidisciplinary, fully open-access scholarly journal. It publishes peer-reviewed work in the social sciences, humanities, education, law, economics, and the applied sciences, including work that crosses the boundaries between them. Everything the journal publishes is free to read from the moment it appears, and authors pay nothing at any stage.
The journal is published by Asociația Societatea Studenților din Uniunea Europeană (EUSS), a Romanian non-profit association, and runs on Open Journal Systems at peeracademics.com.
What the journal publishes
Peer Academics considers manuscripts that make a documented contribution to knowledge and that are argued from evidence a reader can check: data, sources, a stated method, or a reasoned analysis of law, policy, or texts. The journal accepts Original Research, Review Articles, Systematic Reviews, Short Communications, Methods papers, Case Studies, Perspectives, Commentary, and Editorials. Each type has its own expectations and its own review treatment, set out in the Aims and Scope.
Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Work that has been posted as a preprint remains eligible; see the Publishing Model for how preprints are handled.
How manuscripts are reviewed
Peer review at Peer Academics is double-anonymous: reviewers are not told who wrote the manuscript, and you are not told who reviewed it. Research articles are assessed by at least two independent reviewers. Reviewers advise; the decision to reject, request revision, or accept is taken by an editor. Editorials and Commentary are reviewed editorially rather than sent for external peer review, and are labeled as such when published.
Because review is double-anonymous, anonymizing your manuscript is your responsibility, not the editor's. Before you submit you must remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding identifiers, and institutional ethics approval numbers from the manuscript file; refer to your own earlier work in the third person; and clear identifying information from the file's document properties. Identifying details go in the separate title page and in the submission metadata. A manuscript that still identifies its authors will be returned to you for correction before it enters review, which delays the decision. Full instructions are in the Author Guidelines.
Open access and charges
Peer Academics is fully open access. There are no article processing charges, no submission fees, and no charges for pages, figures, color, or supplementary files. Nothing is charged on rejection and nothing is charged on acceptance. Because the journal charges authors nothing, it operates no waiver, discount, or hardship scheme: there is nothing to waive. The costs of running the journal are borne by the Publisher.

Current status
Peer Academics is open for submissions and has not yet published an issue. So that no reader or author is misled, the journal states its position plainly:
- No ISSN or e-ISSN has been assigned. An application will be made to the Romanian ISSN National Centre.
- The journal has no Crossref membership and no DOI prefix, so published articles will not initially carry DOIs.
- The journal is not indexed in any database, directory, or citation index, and claims no impact factor, CiteScore, or other metric. It will make no such claim until an indexing body has actually accepted it.
- The journal is not yet enrolled in a digital preservation network.
- The editorial board is being assembled. No individual is listed as an editor or board member until that person has accepted the role in writing. See the Editorial Board page.
This page is updated whenever one of these facts changes. The journal's editorial and ethical policies are informed by the principles of COPE, ICMJE, and DOAJ; Peer Academics is not a member of, and is not listed by, any of them.
