Peer Academics is open for submissions. We are assembling our first issue and invite manuscripts from researchers at any career stage and any institution.

What we publish

Peer Academics is multidisciplinary. We consider work in the social sciences, humanities, education, law, economics and the applied sciences, including work that crosses the boundaries between them. What we look for is a documented contribution to knowledge, argued from evidence a reader can check: data, sources, a stated method, or a reasoned analysis of law, policy or texts.

We accept Original Research, Review Articles, Systematic Reviews, Short Communications, Methods papers, Case Studies, Perspectives, Commentary and Editorials. Each type has its own length range and its own review treatment — see the Aims and Scope.

How your manuscript will be handled
  • Double-anonymous review. You are not told who reviewed your work, and reviewers are not told who wrote it. Research articles are assessed by at least two independent reviewers before a first decision.
  • No charges of any kind. There are no submission fees, no article processing charges, no page or colour charges. The Publisher covers the cost of publication.
  • Open access on the day of publication. Everything we publish is free to read immediately, with no embargo.
  • Editorial independence. Decisions are taken by editors on the evidence of the reviews. No payment can obtain, accelerate or influence a decision.
Before you submit

Read the Author Guidelines and the Submission Checklist. Because review is double-anonymous, your manuscript file must be anonymised: author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding statements and identifying self-citations belong on a separate title page and in the submission metadata, not in the manuscript itself.

Our policies on authorship, conflicts of interest, generative AI and publication ethics apply to every submission, and you will be asked to confirm that you have read them.

What we are honest about

Peer Academics is a new journal. It has not yet published an issue, it has not yet been assigned an ISSN, it has no DOI prefix, and it is not indexed in any database. An ISSN will be applied for once the first issue is online, which is the order the Romanian ISSN National Centre requires. Anyone submitting here is submitting to a journal at the beginning of its life, and we would rather say so than let you find out later.

What we can promise is the process described above, carried out properly: a real editorial screening, real independent reviewers, a reasoned decision, and a permanent, openly accessible article with complete citation metadata.

Submitting

Start a submission. You will need to register an account and confirm your email address. Questions about scope or suitability are welcome before you write: write to [email protected].

We are also looking for reviewers. If you would like to review for Peer Academics, register and select the reviewer role, or write to the editorial office with your areas of expertise.
